TEFC Jaipur Hosts Export Awareness Programme on FTAs & Government Schemes

The Textile Export Facilitation Centre (TEFC), under the Textiles Committee, Ministry of Textiles, Government of India, successfully organised an awareness programme titled “Maximise the Export Through FTAs and Government Schemes” at Hotel Marigold, Sitapura Industrial Area, Jaipur, on 25 June 2026.

The programme brought together textile manufacturers, exporters, MSMEs, industry associations and stakeholders from the garments, handloom and handicrafts sectors to discuss strategies for enhancing exports through Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) and various government support initiatives.

Shri Kartikay Dhanda, Secretary, Textiles Committee, Ministry of Textiles, Government of India, attended the event as the Chief Guest. The programme was also graced by Shri Dinesh Gupta, President of AGES; Shri Siddharth Gadhaiya, General Secretary of AGES; and Shri Rajeev Diwan, Mentor of AGES, as Guests of Honour.

Welcoming the participants, Shri Govind Prasad, Deputy Director and Officer-in-Charge, Regional Office, Textiles Committee, Jaipur, outlined the objectives of the awareness programme and highlighted the role of TEFC in supporting India’s textile export ecosystem.

In his keynote address, Shri Kartikay Dhanda emphasised the importance of leveraging Free Trade Agreements, export facilitation services and government support schemes to strengthen India’s textile exports. He highlighted Rajasthan’s growing potential in the textile and apparel sector and encouraged manufacturers and exporters to utilise opportunities available under both Central and State Government initiatives. He also stressed the need to focus on quality, innovation, value addition, sustainability and global competitiveness to drive export growth.

Shri J. Parameswaran, Deputy Director (EP&QA), Textiles Committee, Mumbai, delivered a detailed presentation on India’s Free Trade Agreements, explaining preferential tariff benefits and practical approaches to maximise exports to partner countries.

Representing the Office of the Commissioner, Industries and Commerce, Shri Pankaj Rao, Assistant Commissioner, discussed Rajasthan Government’s export promotion initiatives, including assistance for participation in international trade fairs, buyer-seller meets, branding support, market intelligence and exporter guidance.

Shri Tarun Bhatnagar, Assistant Director, MSME, provided insights into various schemes offered by the Ministry of MSME, covering Udyam Registration, collateral-free credit support, technology upgradation, entrepreneurship development, financial assistance, subsidies and other initiatives aimed at strengthening textile MSMEs.

The programme witnessed participation from nearly 100 representatives from textile manufacturing units, exporters, entrepreneurs, MSMEs and industry organisations across Rajasthan, reflecting the industry’s growing interest in expanding exports through government-backed initiatives.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Shri Vijay Babu Gaur, Quality Assurance Officer, Textiles Committee, who expressed gratitude to the Chief Guest, Guests of Honour, speakers, participating departments and delegates for contributing to the success of the programme.
