CMAI’s 83rd NGF Kidswear Edition Strengthens Festive Season Business Outlook

The Clothing Manufacturers Association of India (CMAI) successfully concluded the 83rd edition of the National Garment Fair (NGF) Kidswear Edition in Mumbai, attracting more than 14,600 trade visitors over three days. Held from June 22 to 24, 2026, at the Bombay Exhibition Centre (NESCO), Goregaon East, the event reaffirmed its position as one of India’s leading apparel trade fairs.

The Kidswear segment, recognised as one of the fastest-growing categories in the apparel sector, generated significant interest among retailers, distributors, wholesalers, e-commerce businesses and sourcing professionals from across the country. The strong turnout reflected growing confidence in the category ahead of the upcoming festive season.

The exhibition also welcomed 98 overseas buyers representing countries including Australia, Bangladesh, China, Hong Kong, Ireland, Italy, Kuwait, Malaysia, Mauritius, Nepal, New Zealand, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Tanzania, the UAE, the UK and the USA. Their participation facilitated extensive business discussions and order placements, indicating positive market sentiment.

Commenting on the industry outlook, Santosh Katariya, President, CMAI, said, “The strong presence of buyers from across metros as well as Tier II and Tier III markets highlights the broad-based growth of the apparel sector. As the Kidswear category continues to emerge as one of the fastest-growing segments, NGF remains committed to creating opportunities that connect brands with the evolving retail ecosystem and drive industry progress.”

Spread across more than 2.25 lakh sq. ft. of exhibition space, the fair featured over 630 Kidswear brands showcasing products across infantwear, toddler wear, juniors’ wear, occasion and ethnic wear, casual wear, fashion apparel, accessories and allied categories. Participating brands included Vitamins, Peppermint, Toffyhouse, Little Kangaroos, Teddy Bear Kingdom, Lemonmint, Ollypop, Zola, Gusto, Blueberry, Blazo, Ruff and several others.

The event also witnessed participation from over 900 platinum buyers and major retail groups from across India, highlighting the fair’s importance as a sourcing destination for the Kidswear sector.

Rajesh Giani, Founder and Director, Toffyhouse, highlighted the platform’s role in connecting brands with retailers, while Ashish Katariya, CEO, Peppermint, noted the growing purchasing power in Tier II and Tier III markets and the value of NGF in reaching buyers across India.

As India’s premier bi-annual apparel trade fair, the National Garment Fair continues to connect manufacturers, brands, designers and fashion accessory companies with retailers, distributors, agents and e-commerce businesses, creating valuable opportunities for business growth and industry collaboration.

Following the successful Kidswear edition, CMAI will host the Menswear and Womenswear editions from July 13 to 15, 2026. The Womenswear segment will be held at the Bombay Exhibition Centre, while the Menswear segment will take place at MMRDA Ground, BKC, Mumbai. Together, the events will feature more than 800 exhibitors showcasing over 900 brands and are expected to attract around 35,000 retailers from across the country.
