Texworld Apparel Sourcing Paris has unveiled Autopsy, its latest trend book for the Autumn-Winter 2027-2028 season. The publication explores cultural, social, emotional and aesthetic changes shaping the future of fashion.

The trend book will be presented at Texworld Apparel Sourcing Paris, scheduled from 31 August to 2 September 2026 at the Paris-Le Bourget Exhibition Center.

Developed under the artistic direction of Louis Gérin and Grégory Lamaud, alongside the Texworld Apparel Sourcing Paris Trends Table, Autopsy introduces a new approach to trend forecasting. Instead of the four broad themes used in previous editions, it presents twelve creative signals that reflect changes and tensions in contemporary society.

Autopsy Explores New Directions in Fashion Forecasting

The trend book serves as both a forecasting resource and a creative intelligence tool. It examines a world shaped by technological saturation, changing social values, environmental awareness and the search for authenticity.

It also explores fashion’s evolving relationship with the body, nature, memory, technology and identity. Each of the twelve signals presents a distinct design direction through curated materials, colours, textures and silhouettes.

Twelve Creative Signals for Autumn-Winter 2027-28

The Autopsy trend book introduces twelve signals that explore emerging ideas in design and consumer culture.

  • Normskin: Examines conformity, algorithm-driven aesthetics and standardised identities through neutral palettes and structured forms.
  • Florabiote: Celebrates biodiversity through botanical textures, floral jacquards and nature-inspired materials.
  • Decarnation: Reflects the fading physical presence of the body in hyperconnected societies through weathered surfaces and ghost-like silhouettes.
  • Fusionary: Explores the blending of cultures, materials and creative disciplines.
  • Vitaminoid: Uses exaggerated volumes, vibrant colours and playful references to digital identities and pop culture.
  • Evinescence and Paleogreen: Explore memory, environmental change and nature reclaiming human-made spaces.
  • Chlorolirium and Aquamorphosis: Draw inspiration from biological systems, vegetation and fluid aquatic forms.
  • Wondermeil: Emphasises colour, optimism and sensory experiences as tools for renewal.
  • Urbicea: Examines industrial civilisation through architectural and brutalist influences.
  • Epiternel: Concludes the narrative with themes of humility, permanence and a return to essentials.

Together, these twelve signals offer a framework for understanding future consumer attitudes and creative directions.

Trend Installation Planned for Hall 2

Visitors will be able to explore Autopsy through a dedicated installation in Hall 2 at Texworld Apparel Sourcing Paris. The display will feature selected materials, colour palettes and silhouettes inspired by the twelve themes.

Louis Gérin will also present the trend forecast during a conference on the event’s Agora stage. The session will provide further insights into design directions expected to influence the Autumn-Winter 2027-2028 season.

A Resource for Fashion Brands and Designers

With its focus on cultural observation, emotional intelligence and design innovation, Autopsy offers insights for brands, designers, manufacturers and sourcing professionals preparing for future fashion seasons. The trend book connects wider social changes with creative possibilities for materials, colours and silhouettes.
