Intertextile Shenzhen 2026 is positioning itself as a key platform for textile innovation, with a stronger emphasis on artificial intelligence, sustainability, and cross-border collaboration. The event will be held from 9–11 June 2026 at the Shenzhen Convention & Exhibition Center in Futian, featuring exhibitors from 11 countries and regions across its International Zone.

With Shenzhen now recognised as China’s leading manufacturing and exporting hub, the fair is aligning itself with the city’s growing influence in AI development and start-up ecosystems. This strategic positioning is reflected in the introduction of new knowledge-led initiatives designed to connect academia, industry, and global buyers.

Future Horizons Forum to drive industry dialogue

A major highlight of the 2026 edition is the debut of the Future Horizons Forum, scheduled for 9 June. The forum will feature three curated sessions focused on the future direction of the textile and apparel sector.

The sessions will be moderated by leading institutions from the Greater Bay Area, including Wuyi University, Technological and Higher Education Institute of Hong Kong (THEi), and The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU).

Key themes include textile innovation trends, sustainable production systems, and the application of AI in fashion and textiles.

Innovation Studio to showcase material and tech breakthroughs

Running alongside the forum, the newly introduced Innovation Studio will present applied research, sustainable materials, and digital textile technologies. The space is designed as an experiential hub connecting research institutions with industry stakeholders.

Participating collaborators include:

  • The Asia International Hemp Federation (AIHF), showcasing hemp’s evolution into a sustainable luxury and high-performance industrial fibre
  • Mint Studio, developed by PolyU’s School of Fashion and Textiles, highlighting emerging designer talent and industry networking opportunities
  • THEi, demonstrating integration of fashion technology with cultural storytelling for sustainable design solutions
  • Wuyi University, presenting advanced processes in raw material transformation into finished fabrics

Japan Zone strengthens international sourcing appeal

The International Zone will also feature a dedicated Japan Zone, showcasing premium textile innovations from leading Japanese manufacturers.

Exhibitors such as Kirari Co Ltd, Shibaya Co Ltd, and Sunwell Co Ltd will present a mix of high-performance, eco-conscious, and design-driven fabrics. Highlights include cupro-based sustainable textiles, traditional sun-dyed fabrics, and lightweight voile blends engineered for texture and comfort.

These offerings underline Japan’s continued strength in combining craftsmanship with material innovation, catering to both domestic and global buyers.

A platform for next-generation textile transformation

By integrating academic research, industry exhibitions, and innovation-led forums, Intertextile Shenzhen 2026 is reinforcing its role as a strategic sourcing and knowledge platform for the global textile value chain.

The fair will run alongside Yarn Expo Shenzhen and PH Value, jointly organised by Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd, Messe Frankfurt (Shenzhen) Co Ltd, the Sub-Council of Textile Industry (CCPIT), and the China Textile Information Center.
