Snapdeal has revealed strong fashion and lifestyle shopping trends during the Mother’s Day period, with emerging non-metro cities contributing more than 80% of orders across women-focused categories between 1–10 May 2026.

According to the company, cities including Lucknow, Jaipur, Kanpur, Ludhiana, Indore, Surat, Bhopal, and Dehradun emerged as key contributors, reflecting the growing influence of aspirational consumers in India’s expanding non-metro ecommerce market.

The shopping trends highlighted increasing demand for trend-led fashion and affordable lifestyle products, aligning with the broader consumption-driven momentum identified in the Economic Survey 2025–26.

Women’s ethnic wear, handbags, fashion jewellery, watches, and footwear were among the most purchased categories during the period. Snapdeal also reported that more than 80% of purchases across these segments were made below the ₹499 price point, underlining the growing consumer preference for value-fashion shopping combined with stylish and trend-focused product choices.

On Mother’s Day itself, four of the top five searched keywords on the platform belonged to women-focused categories, including women’s tops, kurta sets, sarees, and watches, indicating strong demand for affordable fashion and lifestyle essentials.

The company noted that the trends reflect a wider shift towards more intentional and value-conscious spending behaviour among Indian consumers, particularly across everyday fashion categories.

Commenting on the trends, Achint Setia, CEO, Snapdeal, said, “The Mother’s Day trends reflect how consumers across emerging centres are becoming increasingly active during new shopping occasions. The next phase of India’s consumption growth is increasingly being driven by aspirational shoppers in emerging markets, where ecommerce is enabling wider access to trend-led categories.”

The company added that the findings further reinforce the growing adoption of ecommerce across smaller Indian cities, particularly for fashion and lifestyle purchases, as consumers continue prioritising affordability and value-led shopping experiences.
