LANXESS presented its advanced fungicides portfolio for the leather industry at IILF 2026 in Chennai, highlighting solutions engineered for long-term preservation across leather processing stages. A key highlight was the introduction of Preventol® CT 40, a new preservative for leather intermediates featuring a unique electrophilic and membrane-active profile for broad-spectrum efficacy and improved storage stability.

The Preventol® range is designed to provide effective and economical long-term protection against mold and fungi during leather manufacturing. Membrane-active biocides remain stable and regenerative, enabling repeated defence and enhanced safety for tanneries. Their ability to penetrate the cross-section of hides ensures protection even after splitting, reducing risks to newly exposed surfaces.

Speaking about the event, Anand Muthureddy, Head – Business Unit Material Protection Products, LANXESS India, said, “The Indian leather industry operates in an increasingly competitive environment, and LANXESS remains focused on delivering reliable and effective solutions to the market. Through our fungicides portfolio, we aim to support the leather industry with reliable, high-performance solutions that align with global quality standards.”
