Hometex Shenzhen Unveils 2025–26 Soft Decoration Industry Report
The press conference for the 2025–26 Comprehensive Research Report on the Soft Decoration Industry was held on December 16, 2025, at the Guangzhou Yuexiu International Congress Center. Organised by Hometex Shenzhen, the event brought together over 20 industry leaders, senior designers, and key media representatives.
The forum focused on industry transformation, consumption upgrades, and sustainable growth pathways.
Industry Outlook: Growth Amid Structural Challenges
Mr. Yuanjin Deng, President of the Guangdong Home Textile and Decoration Association and Chairman of Shenzhen Boao Exhibition Co., Ltd., addressed major industry concerns. These included dual-carbon pressures, rising customer acquisition costs, and increasing market homogenisation.
Despite these challenges, he highlighted the sector’s resilience. In 2025, China’s curtain and window decoration market exceeded RMB 220 billion. Smart curtain sales reached RMB 1.158 billion, with voice control adoption at 63 percent. Meanwhile, home textile exports touched USD 2.33 billion in the first half of the year.
He also announced that Hometex Shenzhen 2026 will coincide with the 30th anniversary of the association and exhibition, as well as Shenzhen’s APEC Summit. Special industry awards and the “Silk Road Living Room” forums are planned.
Strategic Upgrades Planned for Hometex Shenzhen 2026
Mr. Qing Zhang, General Manager of Shenzhen Boao Exhibition Co., Ltd., outlined three major strategic upgrades for the 2026 edition.
First, the exhibition will expand to cover the complete soft decoration category, enabling one-stop sourcing. Second, Informa Markets’ global network will be leveraged to strengthen international outreach. Third, an intelligent supply-demand matching system will be introduced to improve targeted business connections.
Trend Forecasts Shape the 2026 Theme
Ms. Qian Zhu, Trend Consulting Director at WGSN, presented six key macro trends for 2026. She also unveiled the official theme for Hometex Shenzhen 2026, titled “Integration of Myriads.”
The theme is structured around three pillars:
-
Back to Essence – Material
-
Trace to Roots – Craftsmanship
-
Embrace Boundaries – Color
These themes aim to guide future product development and design direction.
Research Report Highlights Market Bottlenecks and Opportunities
Ms. Xiaoyan Lu, South China Editor-in-Chief of China Textile, officially released the industry research report. The study identified several challenges, including sluggish B2C channels, fragmented small-B demand, and full-service conversion rates below 18 percent.
The report also revealed that over 40 percent of factory capacity remains idle. However, it highlighted strong opportunities in stock renovation and elderly-friendly home upgrades. The industry, she noted, must shift from unregulated expansion to targeted refinement.
Industry Leaders Share Transformation Strategies
Three leading companies shared practical insights during the forum. HARVEST presented a full-service model built around design, product, and service integration. YYBS emphasised long-term, value-driven business strategies. FABOIE COLLECTION introduced a three-step “restructure and coexist” approach for the post-real estate era.
Together, these perspectives reinforced the need to rebuild value, capabilities, and channels.
