Mafatlal Industries Limited (MIL), the flagship company of the Arvind Mafatlal Group, has commissioned a 4 MW solar power project at its Nadiad manufacturing unit. The project has been developed in partnership with Kosol Energie. It strengthens the company’s focus on clean energy adoption, operational efficiency, and responsible manufacturing.

Advancing the Shift to Renewable Energy

The new solar installation marks an important milestone in Mafatlal’s transition toward renewable energy. For more than a century, the company has embedded sustainability into its business philosophy. This project builds on that legacy by improving energy security and supporting a more environmentally responsible future for Indian textiles.

Clean Power Generation and Decarbonisation Goals

The ground-mounted solar plant is expected to generate nearly 6.5 million units of clean electricity every year. As a result, the company will significantly reduce its dependence on conventional grid power. The project also supports Mafatlal’s broader decarbonisation objectives. By scaling renewable energy use, the company continues to position sustainability as a driver of long-term competitiveness and value creation.

Leadership Perspective: Mafatlal Industries

Commenting on the development, Mr. Priyavrata Mafatlal, Managing Director of Mafatlal Industries Limited, said,
“At Mafatlal Industries, sustainability has never been a new direction; it has always been part of our DNA. For over a century, we have believed that responsible progress is the only progress that lasts. This solar initiative strengthens that belief and marks an important step in how we prepare our business for the future. Clean energy, efficient manufacturing, and long-term value creation are not goals we pursue occasionally; they are principles we live by every day. This project reflects our commitment to building a more resilient future for our industry and for India.”

Partner Perspective: Kosol Energie

Mr. Kalpesh Kalthia, Chairman & Managing Director, Kosol Energie Private Limited, added,
“We are honoured to partner with Mafatlal Industries—an institution that represents over a century of Indian industrial excellence. This 4 MW solar project is more than an energy installation; it reflects a shared vision for a cleaner and more responsible manufacturing future. At Kosol Energie, our mission is to empower industries with reliable, high performance solar solutions, and this collaboration stands as a testament to the growing trust in our technology and engineering capabilities.”

Strengthening Sustainability at the Nadiad Facility

The Nadiad unit remains one of Mafatlal’s most important production centres. It supports a multigenerational workforce. Over the years, the company has implemented several sustainability initiatives at the facility. These include responsible water management, improved waste handling, and cleaner manufacturing processes.

Blending Heritage with Sustainable Growth

With the commissioning of this solar project, Mafatlal Industries further reduces its environmental footprint. At the same time, the initiative improves long-term operational efficiency. Overall, the development highlights the company’s ability to combine heritage with innovation and growth with sustainable impact.,,
