Fashion Minority Alliance (FMA), a leading non-profit supporting next-generation talent in fashion and beauty, announced a Celebrity Preloved and Designer Archive Fashion Fundraiser. The initiative responds to the severe devastation caused by Hurricane Melissa in Jamaica and the Caribbean.

Uniting Talent for Urgent Relief Efforts

The Raise The Roof Preloved Fashion Fundraiser will bring together prominent figures, philanthropists, brands, and cultural changemakers. Their goal is to support communities hit hardest by the disaster. The event takes place on Saturday, 6 December at The Roof Gardens in London. It will feature a curated selection of archival and preloved fashion donated by major names from film, fashion, music, and sports.

Creative Leaders Driving the Initiative

A committee of creative industry leaders is driving the fundraiser. The group includes Karen Cummings-Palmer, Susan Bender-Whitfield, Celia Sears, Daniella Helayel, Shanna Bent, Yasmin Mills, Rachael Barrett, Lorraine Coilins MBACP, and Barbara Kennedy-Brown, founder of FMA. All proceeds will support rebuilding schools and providing essential educational and medical supplies. The funds will also help vulnerable communities in the worst-affected regions.

Fashion as a Force for Good

“This is fashion with purpose,” said Fashion Minority Alliance Chairman, Lord Reay. “We’re turning closets into catalysts for change. Even if supporters have no personal connection to the Caribbean, they share a commitment to using their influence for good. Every part of this event is rooted in compassion and intent.”

Exclusive Donations From Global Icons

The event will also feature remarks from His Excellency Paul Andrew Gomez, High Commissioner of the Commonwealth of The Bahamas, who will speak on behalf of the Caribbean. With generous support from Sade, the fundraiser will showcase notable contributions such as Valentino couture and a matching clutch from the private collection of Baroness Francesca von Thyssen-Bornemisza de Kászon. It will also present a rare archival piece from Grace Wales Bonner and the red-carpet dress worn by Naomie Harris at her BFI Chair Dinner.

Additional contributors include Anna Wintour, Naomi Campbell, Vanessa Williams, Beverley Knight, Bella Freud, Carmen Busquets, Serena Bute, Pippa Bennett-Warner, Alex Eagle, Giovanna Fendi, Myles Lewis-Skelley, Stella Jean, Veronica Webb, Melissa Odabash, and Rachel Scott’s Diotima.

A Symbolic Gift of Hope

In a final gesture of compassion, His Excellency the Most Reverend Abbot Dom. Ignasi M. Fossas, OSB, will donate a Zucchetto from the personal collection of Pope Leo XIV. He blessed this piece specifically for the fundraiser. The attendee who makes the highest contribution or donation will receive the gift.
