United Creations, the apparel manufacturing hub of Alpine Group, has partnered with IrisGuard to introduce the EyePay® Network — an iris recognition–based payroll system designed to enhance transparency, security, and financial inclusion for workers. The company is the first in Jordan to adopt the technology.
In Jordan’s apparel sector, many migrant workers remain unbanked, traditionally relying on cash-based wage payments that often pose risks such as theft, delays, and added transaction costs. The EyePay® Network aims to address these challenges by allowing employees to access their salaries instantly using only an iris scan, eliminating the need for bank accounts, PINs, or ID cards. The fully digitised system enables more secure, efficient, and accountable payment processing.
United Creations operates three WRAP Gold certified factories producing around 27 million garments annually for leading global brands including Lululemon, Under Armour, and American Eagle. Among its 5,800 employees, 74% had already transitioned to the iris-based system by November 2025, with full adoption expected by year-end.
“This initiative is about much more than payroll,” said Clare Woodford, Vice President of Sustainability and Impact at Alpine Group. “EyePay® Network empowers our team members with secure and reliable access to their wages, reducing the vulnerabilities of being unbanked and building greater financial inclusion across our workforce. At the same time, it enhances transparency and accountability in how we manage payroll, underscoring our commitment to worker well-being and responsible business practices, and setting a new benchmark for the wider apparel industry.”
The initiative is part of a wider deployment by IrisGuard in partnership with Cairo Amman Bank (CAB), marking the first large-scale use of biometric salary payments in Jordan’s private sector. EyePay® technology, previously used in humanitarian aid distribution, is now enabling payroll operations at scale in line with international labour standards, promoting fairness and traceability.
“The EyePay® Network is transforming financial access at the source,” said Imad Malhas, Founder and Managing Director of IrisGuard. “By eliminating the need for individual bank accounts and physical IDs, we are protecting vulnerable workers while enabling payroll to operate at scale securely and efficiently. Partnering with United Creations & CAB demonstrates how biometric innovation can raise standards across the apparel sector, driving greater transparency and trust for workers, employers, and global brand partners alike.”
To complement the technology, United Creations has also partnered with Jordan Post to provide on-site salary and remittance services at its factories and dormitories. This allows workers to collect wages and transfer money to families directly from their workplaces, benefiting from lower fees and improved convenience.
“This partnership marks a defining moment for United Creations. By integrating the EyePay® Network into our operations, we’re not only improving how we manage payroll but fundamentally reshaping the way we support and empower our workforce,” said Ehab Mohi, Vice Chairman of United Creations. “This innovation gives our employees greater security and dignity while enabling us to build a more transparent, efficient, and trusted business. It’s a transformation that will strengthen our foundation for years to come.”
United Creations is one of Jordan’s largest apparel exporters, known for applying lean manufacturing and sustainable practices. Its collaboration with IrisGuard and CAB represents a major step toward digitising worker payments and promoting responsible employment models across the apparel industry.
