Trident Group and PGTI Announce Inaugural Trident Open

The Trident Group and the Professional Golf Tour of India (PGTI) have announced the inaugural Trident Open Golf Tournament. The event will be held at the Chandigarh Golf Club from November 11 to 14, 2025, with a prize purse of INR 1 crore. It follows the Am-Am and Pro-Am events that took place on November 8 and 9.

Supported by the title sponsor Trident Group, the tournament highlights the company’s dedication to promoting sports and excellence. Led by Mr. Rajinder Gupta, Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha) and Chairman, the group operates globally with headquarters in Ludhiana, Punjab. Trident has a strong presence in Textiles, Paper (Wheat Straw-based) and Chemicals, with major manufacturing units in Punjab and Madhya Pradesh.

Among the Indian professionals competing are Yuvraj Sandhu, Arjun Prasad, Shaurya Bhattacharya, Angad Cheema, Om Prakash Chouhan, and Manu Gandas. Additionally, the Chandigarh Tricity will be represented by Jairaj Singh Sandhu, Akshay Sharma, Ravi Kumar, Abhijit Singh Chadha, and Umed Kumar, who recently topped the PGTI NEXGEN Order of Merit.

The international field includes Sri Lankans N Thangaraja and K Prabagaran, Bangladesh’s Jamal Hossain and Md Siddikur Rahman, as well as players from the USA, Nepal, Italy, and Uganda. Notably, Shubham Jaglan, a former India No. 1 in the junior category, will make his PGTI debut after representing his college team in the United States.

This 72-hole stroke-play tournament will feature 126 players, including 123 professionals and three amateurs. After the first two rounds, the top 50 players and ties will continue for the final 36 holes.
