Daman
NIFT Daman’s recent fashion show was a celebration of individuality, showcasing five bold subcultures like Gothic, Metal, Minimalist, Dopamine, and Punk. The event, organized by students, highlighted how subcultures transcend clothing to express identity, emotion, and rebellion. Each segment carried its own story, with Gothic adding drama with dark tones, minimalism bringing clean simplicity, punk adding rebellion with edgy details, dopamine sparking joy with bright colours, and metal bringing intensity with leather and studs. The students’ creativity was on full display as they experimented with diverse styles, colours, and themes, making the show a reflection of NIFT Daman’s commitment to fostering innovation in fashion and textiles. By embracing different subcultures, the students demonstrated their ability to think creatively and push boundaries in fashion. The show reflects NIFT Daman’s vibrant campus life, where creativity and self-expression thrive. With its strong focus on hands-on learning and industry exposure, NIFT prepares students to lead the business of fashion. The event was part of the Textile Design students’ first-semester academic curriculum, headed by subject faculty Dr. Sonali Saldana and the Foundation Program department head, Dr. Rahul Kushwaha.
The event showcased student talent and highlighted the connection between traditional inspiration and contemporary fashion. NIFT Director Dr. Brijesh Deore, lauding the effort, said, “Fashion is not just about clothes; it’s a reflection of our soul, a canvas of self-expression, and a celebration of diversity. This show embodies the spirit of creativity and individuality that NIFT strives to nurture.”
