Bemberg™ by Asahi Kasei is entering a new era of leadership and innovation. Junshu Furusawa has been appointed as CEO of Asahi Kasei Fibers Italia, succeeding Koji Hamada, who returns to Japan after leading the European division for four years. With nearly two decades of experience in the Bemberg™ Division, including four years in Italy, Furusawa brings expertise in product development, innovation, and strategic vision. His leadership will reinforce Bemberg™’s role as a key partner in responsible innovation and sustainable luxury fashion.
This milestone coincides with several new initiatives:
-
Responsible Religious Wardrobe: For the Jubilee 2025, Bemberg™ has collaborated with the Sister Disciples of the Divine Master and Brunello S.p.A. to create the Popolo in Cammino – Pellegrini di Speranza collection of liturgical vestments. Designed with sustainability at its core, the collection honors Pope Francis’ encyclical Laudato Si’.
-
Industry Presence at FILO and Beyond: Following a successful showcase at Milano Unica with 18 partner mills, Bemberg™ will feature at the 64th edition of FILO in a dedicated Responsible Innovation space. It will also be present at Première Vision Paris, Feel the Yarn (Istanbul Edition), and Denim by Première Vision.
-
Media Spotlight on SKY TG24: In May 2025, SKY TG24 aired a two-part exclusive on Bemberg™’s production in Japan, highlighting its closed-loop process, renewable energy use, and commitment to circular innovation.
At its core, Bemberg™ is a rare, regenerated fiber made from cotton linters and produced through a closed-loop process. Celebrated for its softness, drape, moisture control, and versatility, it continues to inspire designers worldwide, proving that fashion and responsibility can go hand in hand.
