The International Cotton Advisory Committee (ICAC) has officially released the inaugural edition of The Textiles Observer, a comprehensive, free-to-access publication designed to engage the full cotton-to-textile value chain.
This launch marks a strategic expansion of ICAC’s focus, now encompassing the entire textile ecosystem beyond cotton cultivation. The initiative is led by Mr. Kanwar Usman, ICAC’s Head of Textiles and editor of the new magazine, who emphasizes its goal of fostering dialogue and collaboration within the global textiles community.
The 63-page issue features four major articles:
-
“Helping Brands Achieve Traceable Cotton Supply Chains” by Alison Ward, CEO of CottonConnect
-
“From Net Zero to Nature-Positive” by Dr. Tanveer Hussain, National Textile University, Pakistan
-
“Preservation of Fiber Quality Through the Cotton Pipeline” by Marinus HJ van der Sluijs, Textile Technical Services
-
“Textiles in ICAC Member Countries” – a 40-page overview by Mr. Usman, introducing an annual report on textiles’ impact across ICAC nations
