RAI HR Tech Summit 2025 Sparks Retail Workforce Shift

The Retailers Association of India (RAI) hosted the Retail HR Tech Summit 2025 at the Bombay Exhibition Centre, spotlighting the evolving role of technology in retail human resources. HR leaders, industry professionals, and tech innovators came together to discuss the future of workforce management, focusing on employee experience, data-driven efficiency, and digital transformation.

Kumar Rajagopalan, CEO of RAI, emphasized the synergy between tech and human insight: “HR must evolve by empowering teams, upskilling talent, and striking a balance between digital tools and human connection.”

Sunjoy Dhaawan, VP-HR, DHL Express India, delivered a compelling keynote, introducing a new HR equation: P = GQ + D — where People (P) drive Growth and Quality (GQ), augmented by Digitalization (D).

The summit featured discussions on HR tech’s role in talent engagement, AI-powered hiring, and modern workforce analytics. Sessions included:

  • AI in Retail HR: The ZingHR.ai Perspective

Retail leaders from brands like Trent, Titan, Adidas, Reliance Retail, BigBasket, Metro Brands, Apollo Pharmacies, V Mart, Celio, Spykar, and Shoppers Stop shared insights on recruitment transformation, performance metrics, AI integration, and the shift toward personalized, tech-enabled HR models.

Khushboo Moondra (Trent Ltd) highlighted the post-COVID focus on quality hiring and retention, while Haneesh Nambiar (Apollo Pharmacies) spoke on AI’s role in strategic talent assessment.

The summit underscored that the future of HR in retail lies in a tech-augmented, people-first approach—driving productivity, engagement, and sustainable growth in a rapidly evolving landscape.
