PM Modi Visits Brands of India Pavilion at Bharat Tex 2025

The Honorable Prime Minister of India, Shri. Narendra Modi, and the Honorable Minister of Textiles, Shri. Giriraj Singh paid a visit to the Clothing Manufacturers Association of India’s (CMAI) Brands of India Pavilion at Bharat Tex 2025 in New Delhi. 40+ top clothing brands were on display at the CMAI pavilion, demonstrating the strength of India’s domestic clothing market. Additionally, CMAI has helped to introduce more than 100 MSME exhibitors in categories such as Start-up & Innovation, Textile & Fabrics, and Apparel & Fashion.

The Clothing Manufacturers Association of India (CMAI), a crucial component of the Bharat Tex Trade Federation, was instrumental at Bharat Tex 2025. It led thought-provoking panel discussions, showcased India’s apparel industry strength through the Brands of India Pavilion, and strengthened its sustainable initiative by launching a Sustainable Supply Chain Directory in collaboration with the Global Alliance for Textile Sustainability Council (GATS) and the Centre for Environment Education (CEE) and SU.RE website in partnership with the UN. In order to create a regenerative future for Indian fashion that puts people, the environment, and industry resilience first, these new efforts are anticipated to further promote fruitful cooperation between brands, producers, legislators, and sustainability specialists.

Speaking at Bharat Tex 2025, which was held at Bharat Mandapam in Delhi, Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, Shri. Narendra Modi, stated “Today, we are the sixth largest textile exporter in the world. Our textile exports have reached three lakh crores of rupees. Now, our target is to take it to nine lakh crores of rupees by 2030. But I want to say that after seeing the enthusiasm of people today, I feel you all will prove my target wrong, and the work will be completed before that.”

Speaking about the Brands of India pavilion, Santosh Katariya, President, CMAI, emphasized the shift toward sustainability and innovation, stating, “It is a moment of immense pride for CMAI to once again present the Brands of India Pavilion at Bharat Tex 2025, showcasing the strength and innovation of India’s domestic apparel industry. The presence of Hon’ble Shri Narendra Modi, Prime Minister of India, and Hon’ble Shri Giriraj Singh, Minister of Textiles, Government of India, at our pavilion is a testament to the Government’s strong support for India’s apparel sector and its vital role in the nation’s economic growth. As a key pillar of employment and manufacturing, the apparel industry is a driving force behind India’s self-reliant vision. CMAI remains committed to empowering Indian apparel manufacturers, brands, and start-ups to compete on a global scale and strengthen India’s position as a leader in the industry.”

The Brands of India pavilion by CMAI showcased 40+ leading Indian retail brands, top apparel manufacturers and retailers that have played a pivotal role in shaping India’s domestic market. Prominent names like Allen Solly; American Eagle; Arrow; Aurelia; Biba; Blackberry; Bodycare; Calvin Klein; Dagerrfly; Flying Machine; Forever 21; Gas; House Of Masaba; Jaypore; Juniper; La Martina; Louis Philippe; Manyavar; Mohey; Mothercare; No Mondays; Octave; Pantaloons; Peter England; Rangriti; Red Flame; Reebok; Sabyasachi; Satya Paul; Shantnu & Nikhil; Simon Carter; Soft; Stori; Superdry; Tasva By Tarun Tahiliani; TCNS; The Collective; Toffyhouse; Tommy Hilfiger; Uspa Assn.; Van Heusen; W For Woman; Westside were part of this showcase.

Bharat Tex is India’s premier textile and apparel trade fair, which aims to reinforce the country’s position as a global leader in textile manufacturing, innovation, and sustainability. The four-day event, held in  New Delhi, brought together industry leaders, policymakers, manufacturers, and global stakeholders, facilitating key discussions and collaborations to drive the sector forward. The event will featured exhibitions, knowledge sessions, thematic discussions, G2G meetings, B2B networks, MoUs, product launches, and interactive pavilions, attracting top policymakers, global CEOs, international exhibitors and buyers. Aligned with the 5F vision—Farm to, Fiber to, Factory to, Fashion to, Foreign Markets, it showcased India’s manufacturing strength, sustainability efforts, and innovations driving sector growth.
