Josie Edwards, a senior in garment merchandising and product development at the University of Alberta, has been chosen the recipient of the American Association of Textile Chemists and Colorists Foundation’s national 2022-23 Textile Design Scholarship. Edwards has been a member of the University of Alberta’s AATCC campus branch for two years, developed and modelled a garment in last spring’s Enclothe: Embody fashion show, works and interns at Violet’s Bridal & Formal in Tontitown, and just returned from a study tour in Las Vegas.
The AMPD program is housed in the School of Human Environmental Sciences in the Dale Bumpers College of Agricultural, Food and Life Sciences. AATCC is a professional association providing test method development, quality control materials, educational development and networking for textile and apparel professionals throughout the world. The AATCC Foundation selected 26 recipients to receive more than $90,000 in scholarship and fellowship funding.
