Santosh Katariya becomes the CMAI’s next president.

Mumbai, September 30, 2024:The Clothing Manufacturers Association of India (CMAI) held its 61st Annual General Meeting on September 27, 2024, during which a new managing committee was elected and new office bearers for 2024–2025 and 2025–2026 were appointed.

The Clothing Manufacturers Association of India (CMAI) has a new president, Mr. Santosh Katariya, a veteran of the apparel industry. With over 17 years of experience in the ready-made garment manufacturing industry under the Peppermint brand, Shri Katariya is presently the managing director of Peppermint Clothing Pvt. Ltd. located in Pune.

Prior to this, Mr. Katariya served four years as the Association’s honorary general secretary and as regional chairman of the Western Regional Advisory Committee.

On taking in-charge of the Presidentship, Mr. Katariya, underlined,”Strengthening the Association and making sure appropriate steps are done to improve the Association’s functioning are my top priorities right now. We’ll collaborate closely with the federal government and state governments to facilitate trade in a way that benefits our sector. By the end of my tenure, we want to have 7000 Members, and it is my responsibility to do everything within my power to make this happen.

Sharing his vision for the Industry, Mr. Katariya, stated, These are difficult times for the supply chain, as it is realigning and looking at better sourcing destinations on a constant basis. By contacting these regions, we can undoubtedly fill in part of the empty space. My goal is for all RMG manufacturing facilities in India to become ESG compliant, and for business, government, and associations to collaborate in promoting Made-in-India RMG products, which are well regarded around the world.

Santosh Katariya is known for his philanthropy, benevolence and humanitarianism.
