Senior veterans are appointed by Groyyo to the positions of Vice President

The company is impacting manufacturing output for SMEs across Asia through technology and a solid leadership team

Bengaluru/Gurugram, September 25th, 2024: Groyyo, the premier platform for supply chain facilitation and cross-border manufacturing in the fashion and lifestyle industries in Asia, is bolstering its leadership with significant hires. Smita Verma Kansal, a former SVP and founding member of Geniemode, has been named Chief Business Officer by the firm in Abu Dhabi. She joins with a plethora of knowledge from her positions at Brands and Sourcing Leaders Association (BSL) and Geniemode. Alessandro Bertini, whose experience in brand creation, strategy, and assortment will be crucial to the company’s growth and expansion, was also recently named by the company as Vice President – Commercial.

Under their direction, Groyyo hopes to change its approaches to business expansion, keep innovating, and develop market-leading platform solutions in order to realize its goal of enabling over 20 million SME Manufacturers in Asia to go global with their businesses by digitizing them.

With 26 years of expertise, Smita Verma Kansal offers strategic and operational leadership in a variety of demanding scenarios. She has the strong sourcing, negotiating, and management abilities needed to establish profitable commercial operations in Bangladesh and India for the UK, Europe, and US markets. Smita is a graduate of the esteemed NMIMS and IIM Kashipur. She has worked in a variety of capacities at Pepkor Global Sourcing, Li & Fung, Triburg, and PDS.

Smita has been appointed as Chief Business Officer at Groyyo, where her focus will be on onboarding additional marquee international brands, building on the existing successful partnerships with Mango, Next, and Inditex. With the expertise she brings, she will also be a key decision maker in leading growth of the company’s exports to the U.S. and further expand Groyyo’s global presence. Alessandro Bertini, fondly called Alex by his colleagues, brings extensive experience in the fashion industry, having worked with renowned brands such as MANGO, Massimo Dutti, Miroglio Group, Zalando.
