Uniqlo, a Japanese global garment retailer, is celebrating its fifth anniversary in India and plans to open two additional stores in November. One will be placed in Mumbai’s Phoenix Palladium Mall, while the other will open in New Delhi’s Pacific Mall Tagore Gardens.

“Our five-year journey has been incredible and full of learnings,” said Kenji Inoue, Uniqlo India’s CFO and COO, in a news statement. “We are pleased to see that Indian customers have expressed a strong appreciation for our LifeWear—high-quality, functional clothing designed to improve everyday life.” We remain dedicated to India and want to continue servicing our consumers. At this point, we are also excited to announce the extension of our retail network in Mumbai and New Delhi.”

The Phoenix Palladium store in Mumbai will be the brand’s third in the city, with a total sales floor area of 18,380 square feet divided over two levels. The proposed Pacific Mall Tagore Garden store in New Delhi would be 12,930 square feet and the brand’s ninth in Delhi NCR.

Both planned locations will include Uniqlo’s ‘LifeWear’ lines for men, women, children, and newborns. Uniqlo debuted its first brick-and-mortar store in India in New Delhi in October 2019 and now has 13 exclusive brand outlets across the country.
