Deme by Gabriella, a womenswear brand, held its maiden runway presentation during Dubai Fashion Week. Designer Gabriella Demetriades carried comfortable yet provocative curtains down the runway, drawing inspiration from fearless women and the concept of the modern warrior.
“Showcasing at Dubai Fashion Week is a dream come true,” designer and brand founder Gabriella Demetriades stated in a news statement. “We have a rapidly rising clientele in the UAE and were eager to show them our new range. It was an opportunity to engage with a varied audience and present the brand we had developed to a global audience.”
Deme by Gabriella’s collection employed a delicate, neutral color palette and flexible materials to create toga-like drapes. Golden suns caught the light on the runway as they perched at the waist of slinky maxi dresses, and fitted suits gave poise to the collection, which was available for purchase online shortly after the presentation on September 5.
“The inspiration for this collection comes from the women who have influenced my life—those who are unafraid to embrace their strength and sensuality while maintaining an air of grace,” according to Demetriades. “I wanted to create pieces that are not just garments but experiences that resonate deeply with the wearer.”
Gabriella Demetriades established Deme more than a decade ago. The brand has held runway events as part of Indian fashion weeks such as Lakmé Fashion Week x Fashion Design Council of India, and it is available across India through a mix of online and offline multi-brand fashion retailers.
