Shanghai, 8 August 2024. Cotton remains the most conventional and widely used natural fibre, favoured for its functional properties, such as high absorbency, strength, softness, and colour retention, which allow extensive end-uses[1]. Seeking opportunities in the dominant Asia-Pacific market, India – a major cotton producer – is once again set to make an impression at Yarn Expo Autumn, held from 27 to 29 August in Hall 8.2 of the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai). With cotton also a strong focus for suppliers from other countries and regions, over 40 exhibitors will be in the India Pavilion, displaying their selected cotton, mélange, greige, fancy yarns, and more.

In August, the India Pavilion, which is organized by the esteemed Cotton Textile Export Promotion Council (TEXPROCIL), will return to the exhibition with great might, towering over the more than 500 exhibitors representing 15 different nations and regions. Mr. Murali Balakrishna, Joint Director of The Cotton Textile Export Promotion Council, stated during the most recent Yarn Expo Spring event that “the effectiveness of Yarn Expo as a business platform and the attraction of the vast Chinese market is the reason for the continued attendance of Indian suppliers.” Especially for India’s well-known twisted cotton yarn, the country’s textile industry chain and competitive edge in terms of both quality and pricing have brought a lot of customers to our booth.

The 40 exhibitors in the India Pavilion, the largest group of exhibitors in ten years, will highlight their knowledge in a range of yarn and fiber categories. The range of products includes spandex yarn, mixed yarn, synthetic yarn, recycled yarn, organic / BCI yarn, pure cotton carding, pure cotton combing / compact spinning, viscose, and more. Highlighted exhibitors include:

  • Indo Industries Pvt. Ltd.
Indo is a high-quality cotton textile manufacturer and exporter, supplying 100% cotton to more than 45 countries including Brazil, China, Germany, the UK, and the US. The company offers a collection of yarns and fabrics, and is a recognised two-star export house by India’s Directorate General of Foreign Trade.
  • Manan Textech Global Pvt. Ltd.
Manan Textech is one of India’s leading vertically integrated textile companies. It manufactures and sources high-quality, certified products across fibres, yarns, fabrics and finished garments for global markets, utilising a wide range of organic and man-made raw materials.
  • Padwa Worldwide LLP
Padwamanufactures yarn with an in-house capacity of 70,000 spindles. Its mill produces premium 100% cotton, including ring spun, combed, compact, carded, siro cleaned, and knitting yarn that is electronically cleared, with high-quality splice.

Cotton also a strong focus for other global exhibitors
Including those at the India Pavilion, the fair will feature over 200 cotton suppliers. Key exhibitors include:

  • Heng Feng (HongKong) Co., Ltd. (Hong Kong)
Founded in 2009, Heng Feng sells quality cotton to Southeast Asia, and imports cotton yarns from India, Indonesia, Thailand, and Vietnam for Chinese customers, forming a multi-channel supply and marketing chain.
  • PT. Indo-Rama Synthetics Tbk (Indonesia)
A division of Indorama Corporation, which is one of Asia’s leading chemical companies headquartered in Singapore. The company manufactures a wide range of products including polyester fibre, cotton fibre, and cotton and synthetic spun yarns.
  • Square Textiles PLC (Bangladesh)
Square develops, manufactures, and markets various yarns for human and industrial use. The company produces cotton yarn, polyester, organic yarn, bamboo yarn and various cotton-polyester blended yarns.

Cotton ranked in the top two product categories at Yarn Expo Spring 2024 and Yarn Expo Autumn 2023. The 2019 Autumn Edition will continue to serve the industry in its capacity as Asia’s premier international sourcing hub for yarns and fibers, along with other in-demand product selections.

Yarn Expo Autumn, CHIC, and PH Value will all take place at the same time as Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics – Autumn Edition. The four fairs will provide a single venue for the fiber and yarn, fashion, knitted garments, and clothing fabrics and accessories industries, allowing exhibitors and buyers to maximize their business potential through the resulting synergy.
