Virat Kohli is featured in a new brand campaign by Essilor®.

National, August 6, 2024: Essilor®, the top brand of prescription lenses in the world (1), has unveiled a new ad with Virat Kohli, the face of the Indian brand. The purpose of the campaign is to better connect the audience with Essilor’s outstanding product options that address vision correction demands and to reinforce the brand’s positioning.

The campaign’s first part highlights Essilor®’s Eyezen® single vision lenses, which are designed for consumers who spend a lot of time using digital devices. Several examples of people using digital gadgets for extended periods of time and experiencing eye strain and fatigue are shown in the campaign film. As an Eyezen® wearer, Kohli is seen describing the advantages of the lenses, citing their ability to filter blue-violet light and lessen visual strain from digital screens—a special combination that protects and soothes the eyes.

The second part of the ad centers on Varilux®, an Essilor® brand of progressive lenses intended to treat presbyopia-related vision issues. (2) In the advertising video, Virat Kohli plays the role of Varilux® evangelist and supporter to his former coach. In the movie, the two men are having a conversation in a café when Kohli notices his coach’s obvious difficulties. His instructor is wearing non-progressive glasses and is closely examining a digital device.
