Notable changes and poignant events characterized Paris Fashion Week 2024. Hermes broke away from its leather-focused designs to present a spring-summer 2025 line dominated by cotton and linen in calming white and blue hues. Under JW Anderson’s supervision, Loewe debuted a minimalist collection praised for its understated elegance but embellished with oddball details like angular collars and exotic feathers. The week came to a conclusion with a moving farewell from Dries Van Noten, who is renowned for his sophisticated designs and brilliant use of color. His 40-year career in fashion came to an end.

Hermes surprised everyone on Saturday at Paris Fashion Week by showcasing a small amount of leather in its spring-summer 2025 collection. Well-known throughout the world for its opulent leather products, Hermes unveiled a collection primarily made of white and blue cotton and linen. “Grazed by a gentle breeze… clothing casts reflections into the transparency of water,” is how designer Veronique Nichanian put the collection in a news release. Trench coats, drawstring pants, and docker hats made up the majority of the collection, with sandals and a sleeveless bomber-style jacket being among the few leather pieces.
