On Wednesday, L’Oréal revealed that Alexandra Palt, the current chief corporate responsibility officer, will be stepping down from her role, effective April 1. Palt, who initially joined L’Oréal as the chief sustainability officer in 2013, has decided to focus on personal endeavors after serving on the executive committee since 2019.

Despite her departure from the corporate responsibility role, Palt will continue to lead as CEO of the Fondation L’Oréal until June 30, after which she will transition to a position on the foundation’s board.

Taking over as the new chief corporate responsibility officer is Ezgi Barcenas, who brings her expertise from AB InBev, where she previously held the position of chief sustainability officer. Barcenas is recognized for her leadership in driving sustainability initiatives, including AB InBev’s ambitious goal of achieving net-zero emissions by 2040.

Nicolas Hieronimus, CEO of L’Oréal Groupe, expressed gratitude for Palt’s contributions over the past 12 years, praising her for spearheading L’Oréal’s transformation towards a more sustainable business model aligned with environmental goals. Hieronimus also highlighted Barcenas’s appointment as a testament to L’Oréal’s ongoing commitment to sustainability and social responsibility.
