Avon, the global beauty brand headquartered in the UK since 2016, is reportedly continuing its operations in Russia, including recruiting new sales agents and maintaining a significant manufacturing plant in the Moscow region. Although the company ceased manufacturing products for Eastern Europe markets (excluding Russia) in Russia, it has shifted production to Poland.

With a successful 30-year history in Russia, Avon emphasized its commitment to providing “critical support” to women whose livelihoods depend on the business. Despite the conflict in Ukraine prompting many Western companies to reconsider their presence in Russia, Avon clarified that it halted investments and product exports but did not completely exit the Russian market.

The BBC investigation revealed that individuals can still register as new Avon sales agents in Russia, with incentives such as prizes, cash bonuses, and holidays offered for meeting targets. Avon, owned by Natura &Co, stated that restricting access to products in Russia would disproportionately impact women and children.

Natura &Co previously mentioned that there is “no financial advantage” to Avon remaining in Russia. The brand, operating both online and through physical stores, continues to navigate its business strategy in the complex geopolitical landscape.
