Amal Clooney has been really into jumpsuits this spring. The chic human rights attorney has worn a variety of elegant one-pieces recently, with designs ranging from beige and belted to grey and pinstriped. She’s on to something with the effortless wardrobe essential: It’s simple to put on, you can go right after slipping it on, and most importantly, it always looks highly polished and businesslike. Clooney, however, discovered her dressiest jumpsuit to date today in Madrid, where she was a keynote speaker at the “We Choose Earth Tour” conference. When you completely wrap oneself in gold, that is what happens.
At the sustainability conference, Clooney made an entrance on the main stage wearing a golden yellow, one-shouldered jumpsuit that was expertly fitted and accented at the waist. (The occasion was intended to bring together a variety of philosophers and artists to urge “collective change towards a more sustainable future for our planet.”) Given that the jumpsuit constituted a design statement in and of itself, Clooney decided to accessorise it simply with items like plain bangles and extremely high heels. She appeared to be a star thanks to her enormous sunglasses. As summer approaches, it appears she isn’t giving up her love of jumpsuits—and we don’t blame her. The distinctive approach is obviously effective.
