The upcoming edition of the Ladakh International Music Festival promises to bring a fresh and exciting lineup of events. Among the highlights is the Ladakh International Fashion Runway, a unique fashion show that will take place at Umling La, the world’s highest motorable road situated at an impressive altitude of 19,022 ft. This fashion show is part of the larger Ladakh Art and Entertainment Alliance.
The festival, scheduled to take place between August 23 and September 3 of this year, will include a beauty pageant that will highlight female leaders from G20 nations as well as guest countries. Several titleholders of Miss Universe, Miss World, and Miss Earth are set to participate and will emphasize the ideas of empowerment, peace, and friendship.
The fashion show will feature renowned models including Vanshika Parmar, Miss Earth winner from India, Giulia Ragazzini, Miss Earth titleholder from Italy, Lindsey Coffey, Miss Earth representative from the USA, Yuumi Kato, Miss Universe from Japan, Luissa Burton, Miss Earth participant from the United Kingdom, Annabella Fleck, Miss Earth delegate from Germany, and Rifah Nanjiba Torsa, Miss World representative from Bangladesh, among many others.
Tashi Gyalson, Chairman of LAHDC (Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council), highlighted the significance of combining local values with global decisions through the Ladakh Arts and Entertainment Alliance. He emphasized that this grand event aims not only to promote the concept of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam (the world is one family) but also to spread a powerful message of love, peace, and harmony worldwide.
According to reports, all participating models will bring half a kilogram of sand from their respective countries. After the event, this sand will be mixed with concrete and placed in a specially designed Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam mold, showcasing unity and the spirit of the G20 summit at the highest altitude road in the world.
Pankaj Gupta, Director and Co-founder of LAEA, a twice Guinness World Record achiever and the creative mind behind this unique fashion show, expressed that their goal is to secure a spot in the Guinness Book of World Records with this event.
