79th NGF Draws a record 39000+Retailers in Four Days Estimated Business Generated close to INR 2100 crores

Mumbai, July 29, 2024 – The Clothing Manufacturers Association of India (CMAI) hosted the 79th National Garment Fair (NGF) 2024, which ended with remarkable success, solidifying its position as the biggest apparel trade event in India. Held from July 23 to July 26, 2024, the event attracted over 39,000 buyers from all across the nation, primarily distributors, wholesalers, and retailers. In just four days, almost INR 2100 worth of business was reportedly created. Furthermore, it is anticipated that over the course of the next four to eight weeks, commercial inquiries worth between INR 800 crores and INR 1000 crores will materialize.

More than 1300 clothing designers showcased their newest collections in an immense 1 million square feet of exhibition area throughout the event. Men’s, Women’s, and Accessories at the Bombay Exhibition Centre, Goregaon, and Kids Wear at the Jio Convention Centre, BKC, were the two locations where the show was held.

The President of CMAI, Rajesh Masand, said of the state of the domestic apparel industry, “The Fair has vividly illustrated the sector’s growth and transformative potential.” This historic edition has sparked our industry’s resiliency and elevated our goals as a whole. NGF reiterates its position as a vital facilitator for the garment industry, enabling vital interactions between clothing brands and consumers, as we look to the future.

“The record-breaking footfalls and remarkable business outcome at the 79th National Garment Fair are a testament to the positive outlook of the apparel segment,” said Rohit Munjal, Vice President and Chairman of the Fair Committee, CMAI. The 79th NGF has surpassed all expectations this year by offering priceless chances for networking, business, development, and cooperation. During the expo, well-known wholesalers and merchants from both domestic and foreign markets were visible and showed interest in local brands. The fair’s continued development and success are primarily attributable to the brands’ and shops’ unwavering support and involvement.

Said he was delighted,”The Indian apparels industry is on a trajectory of stable growth, and CMAI is excited to be a key driver of this journey,” continued Anand Choksi, Joint Chairman of the Fair Committee, CMAI.The National Garment Fair has demonstrated how prepared the industry is to take advantage of new prospects and establish industry standards.

The main representative of Manish Creation, Men’s Ethnic Wear from West Bengal, discussed the fair’s commercial outcomes and stated, “Our brand, situated in Kolkata, has been a prominent player in the manufacturing industry for the past 25 years and are well recognized throughout India. We have a great platform with CMAI to grow our dealer network. Trade exhibitions are becoming more and more important to highlight our innovation because of the growing importance of ethnic wear in the clothing industry.

Ritik Sheth, PARV Design Studio, Men’s Ethnic Wear from Mumbai, said “We owe CMAI our gratitude for all of this accomplishment. As a result of this event, our four-year-old company has acquired a large number of new clients. I think the setup is great and I’m grateful for CMAI’s collaboration; having help from them is exactly what you need when you’re just starting off.

On the last day, Manoj Gupta, Krishan Kumar & Sons, Men’s Ethnic Wear from Delhi, said, Manoj Gupta, Krishan Kumar & Sons, Men’s Ethnic Wear from Delhi, stated on the last day, “We have participated in multiple NGFs and are the oldest ethnic brand in India, having been in business for 32 years.” We benefit much from CMAI; we consistently bring on new business, the majority of which are exporters; we already have domestic clients, but we also bring in foreign ones here; the entry and conversion rates are first-rate. There are more people taking part this time around.

“It’s our third year at CMAI, and we’ve noticed that we’ve been getting a lot of inputs and queries from different parts of the states where we didn’t have a presence,” said Rohit Bhatia, the owner of the Indore-based JADEBERRY Men’s Wear brand, “about their prospects. Since coming to CMAI, we’ve closed a good number of distributors, dealers, and retailers, so overall it’s been a good response for our brand.” Due to the impending holiday season, there will be more people than there was last year, which makes for an incredibly fantastic and captivating overall presence and foot traffic.

Expressing joy, Mukesh Panjwani of Sky Clothing and Megha Dresses from Indore, specializing in Kids Wear expressed, “We have received very amazing response at NGF. We have been with CMAI for the last 5 years, and whenever we come here, we always take something away from the experience. CMAI has provided all the facilities we need. On Day 1, we assumed business would be slow, but the fire started here from Day 1 itself.”
