3rd CMAI FAB Show 2023, Indian garment industry’s largest B2B event, launched by CMAI.

On April 26, 2023, the third iteration of the Fabrics, Accessories & Beyond Show 2023 (FAB Show 2023)—an annual B2B event organised by the Clothing Manufacturers Association of India (CMAI)—began. The Vendor Sourcing Fair 2023 (VSF 2023) and the Fab Show 2023 both is taking place in Mumbai from April 26 to 28, 2023 at the Bombay Exhibition Centre at NESCO Complex.

With more than 4000 members and providing services to more than 20,000 retailers, manufacturers, exporters, brands, and related industries, the Clothing Manufacturers Association of India (CMAI) is the first and most representative association in the Indian garment sector.

Cem Altan, President of the Netherlands-based International Apparel Federation (IAF), officially opened the CMAI Fab Show and the Vendor Sourcing Fair. Over 40 national associations, including those from Bangladesh, China, Turkey, Pakistan, France, and the United States, are members of the IAF. Mr. Altan founded Aycem Textiles and is on the boards of directors of the Turkish Clothing Manufacturers Association (TCMA) and the Istanbul Apparel Exporters Association (IHKIB). He also serves as the director of Koza Young Designers and Istanbul Fashion Week. He also serves as the director of Koza Young Designers and Istanbul Fashion Week. In addition, the CMAI ’60 Years’ Diamond Jubilee logo was unveiled by the hands of Cem Altan at the FAB Show 2023 to commemorate the
milestone year as CMAI enters its 60th magnificent year of serving as a catalyst for the Indian clothing sector.

Rajesh Masand, President of the Clothing Manufacturers Association of India (CMAI), Rahul Mehta, Chief Mentor of the CMAI, Naveen Sainani, Chairman of the FAB Committee, and Mukesh Jain, Chairman of the VSF were among the dignitaries in attendance during the inauguration. The CMAI Vendor Sourcing Fair and FAB Show 2023 each feature more than 250 exhibitors.

Between 10,000 and 12,000 people attend the CMAI FAB Show, including the biggest domestic and international purchasers from China, Bangladesh, the nation of Ethiopia, Nepal, Hong Kong, New Zealand, the UAE, and the UK. The largest associations in the world, Bangladesh Knit Manufacturers & Exporters Association (BKMEA) and Bangladesh Garments Manufacturers & Exporters Association (BGMEA), will also be present at the CMAI FAB Show in 2023.

This year, CMAI built a 20-foot-long “Sustainability Pavilion” to inform and inspire apparel brands and manufacturers to promote sustainability by utilising sustainable textiles and production methods. The “Sustainability Pavilion” will display how clothing has changed from ancient times to the present while also featuring fascinating audio-visual forecasts of the future. Additionally, CMAI and the School of Fashion Technology (SOFT) in Pune have put together a show to highlight Indian handloom and heritage textiles, whose demand is starting to decline. The CMAI hopes that these two exhibits will help raise awareness of these concerns.

Amazon, Ajio, Anita Dongre, Bewakoof, D’Mart, Firstcry, Jack & Jones, Lifestyle, Max, Myntra, Raymond, Nykaa, Pantaloons, Pothys, Shoppers Stop, Siyaram’s, Soch Apparel, Spykar, V Mart, Westside, and Zudio are just a few of the brands attending the trade expo.
