The participation of the Italian textile industry’s excellence will be organized by the Italian Trade Agency Ice.

Owing to Milano Unica’s long-standing partnership with the Italian Trade Agency ICE, 45 of the top Italian manufacturers of luxury textiles and accessories will be present at the Intertextile Apparel Fabrics trade show in Shanghai from August 27 to August 29, 2024. These manufacturers will be showcasing their Fall/Winter 2025–2026 collections to the Chinese market.

With a +7.4% share, the Chinese market ranks third among export destinations, behind France and Spain. The more than 800 square meter display space will serve as a platform for the most well-known customers in the regional and global market, who are becoming more and more interested in sustainable products, Italian manufacturing excellence, and technical advancements.

The event was arranged by the Italian Trade Agency ICE, which was instrumental in assisting Made-in-Italy businesses in their global expansion and raising Milano Unica’s profile as a brand that has developed in the most prestigious trade show landscape.

“Milano Unica will be back in Shanghai for Intertextile Apparel Fabrics in August 2024. The Italian textile industry is benefiting greatly from this trade fair, especially in light of the optimistic signals of a gradual rebound in Chinese imports that are starting to emerge. Retail sales grew by 4.7% in the first quarter and by an additional 3.7% in April and May. Chinese consumers are looking for innovation, quality, research, and narrative during this sensitive time in the market. With their Fall/Winter 2025–2026 collections, the top Italian manufacturers of upscale fabrics and accessories will showcase all of these features in Shanghai.

“With 569 participating firms, several research and content areas, and a total of 700 exhibitors, the 39th edition of Milano Unica at Fiera Milano Rho has now opened. This is a +18% increase from the July 2023 edition and a +22% increase from the pre-Covid-19, July 2019 edition. Buyer involvement increased by 55% from the July 2023 edition to include buyers from China and other key target areas. I firmly believe that Milano Unica’s superior and all-inclusive offering is responsible for this growth rate.

Only accredited guests are permitted entry to the Milano Unica Hall within Intertextile Apparel Fabrics. There, they will interact with Italian exhibitors and learn about their innovations, which serve as a representation of the upstream supply chain and influence the decisions made by major luxury companies.
